Annotation

The Bioethics lectures aim at the moral problems concerning dealing with human life, especially in emergency situations, particularly on tthe beginning and end of life. The objective is to teach students to reflect independently the responsibility for life, to introduce them into the problems of bioethics and to give them tools to find their own positions and conclusions. the usual structure of the lectures:

- what is life;

- the beginning of human life, IVF and PGD;

- gene technologies and the human embryo (using embryos for research);

- pregnancy, prenatal diagnostics and abortion;

- sexuality and contraception;

- health and ilness;

- life with disabilities;

- transplantation;

- dying and death;

- cuiside, assisted suicide and euthanasia;

- principles of biomedical ethics;

- the life and rights of animals;
