Syllabus
Characterization of the family, the status of a woman within family and society. Selected issues: the woman and the family in ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome; the woman and the family in the times of French Revolution; the associations, activities and the emancipation efforts of Czech women in the second half of the 19th century, etc.

This course is concerned with the status of women in society and family within various epochs and cultures, with a special emphasis on Czech society.
