Anotace

What is the relation of our embodiment to our philosophical thinking?  How are we to understand the fact that the very same embodiment that allows us to internalize the world also makes us a part of the world.  The paradox here is that of the intertwining: the fact that each of us must say: I am in the world and the world is in me.  Merleau-Ponty in his last unfinished work tried to resolve this paradox and, in the process, came up with a new vision of philosophy.  In this class, we will examine this vision.
