With respect to the measures imposed, the instruction in the course will proceed in individual seminar groups as follows:

• Teachers can be reached by email. Students will be contacted via their email as it is shown in SIS.
• Teachers upload their material above the scope of obligatory textbook into Moodle. Please use Law School Moodle.

Seminars 1-3

Topics: Global Problems and Opportunities / The Future
LISTENING
Listening for the information. Identifying various sources of information - emails, numbers, addresses, salaries, flt #, processes, maps, classifications, identification, etc. Predidictions, looking for the key words. Distractors, qualifiers, etc.

Seminars 4-6

Topics: Work and Training / (Geography)
READING
Heading for paragprahs, getting the opinions, aggregating the information, topics, survey, quick review; scaninnng and skimming (Test timing), detailing/inferring, etc.

Seminars 7-9

Topics: What is Beauty? / Is It Art?
WRITING
Proper usage of linkers - process and sequencing; structuring an essay - topic sentence, paragraphing, conclusions. Cohesives, Adjuncts. Themes commonly include education, health, crime, social issues, environment, globalization, etc.

Seminars 10-11

Topics: Psychology and Sociology / Family / Travelling around the World (as appropriate)
SPEAKING
Being confident to a social chit-chat communication; providing an extended talk about hobbies, leisure, family, etc.; participating in a discussion concerning abstratc issues, e.g. Space, Literature, Advertising, Music, People, Business, Movies, Health, Work, Education, Food, Sport, Technology, etc.

• If there is no other option but online seminars, they will be held at times when the contact classes were scheduled. The teachers will inform students on online classes and the platform to be used.

If it is necessary to use distance assessment of the course, it will be available to all students registered in the course and it will take the form of continuous assessment consisting of the following assignments:
• Completion of exercises assigned in due time. These will be based on individual units of the textbook.
• Completion of 2 writing tasks in due time.

The assignments will be graded “excellent”, “very good”, “satisfactory”, or “fail”.
The marks will then be averaged to give the final mark for students’ reference and, most importantly, to let students know if they passed (“splněno”) or failed (“nesplněno”) the course.
