The course consists of two sub-disciplines: vocal study and instrumental study.

Teaching takes place according to an individual study plan, which reflects the musical, singing and instrumental maturity and disposition of the student.

Weekly schedule of lessons: 1 hour of voice study + 1 hour of tool study.

Voice study: Basics of singing and speaking technique: correct singing attitude, work with breath, conscious removal of tension (relaxation and activation exercises), head and chest resonance, soft use, articulation (vocals, consonants and their characteristics) Vocalization exercises in the middle vocal position, singing folk songs or artificial songs on folk lyrics. Basic orientation in the issues of physiology and hygiene of the voice.

Instrumental study: In the field of instrument preparation, the student develops his instrumental skills, in the process of studying individual compositions he learns the richness, depth and patterns of music art. The practical mastery of the interpretation of selected compositions allows him to penetrate into the content and structure of the compositions in detail and in depth. At the same time, he learns to master the tool so that he can make the best use of it in school practice.

The student studies: a) piano - one composition from the period of classicism and two compositions of different character of the 20th century (piano) b) violin - one composition from the period of classicism and two compositions of different character from the baroque period (violin). The selection of compositions will reflect the possibilities of their didactic use in schools.

Improvisation of the accompaniment of folk songs (types of stylizations and other improvisation models with regard to the character of the songs). During the semester, the student studies three songs with accompaniment.

Seminar paper: The student will prepare a seminar paper in the range of 3-5 pages, in which he will work on the issue of one of the studied compositions. It will focus on data about the composer, style, content and character of the composition, the process of studying the composition, proposals for its didactic use, the issues he addressed during the study. The student chooses whether to write a seminar paper from instrumental or voice preparation.
