The graduate of the Follow-up M.A. study programme of the East European Studies with specialization Latvian is equipped with knowledge of Latvian language which matches the C2 level of the European Reference Frame of Languages. He/she is professionally prepared to work in the multilingual environment of the region and has knowledge for potential doctoral study.

Graduates are equipped with competence in the Russian language corresponding to the methods and structure of teaching according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, equivalent to the C2 level upon graduation. Furthermore, they have a basic grounding in philology, literary studies, culture and philosophy.
