The graduate is educated in selected natural sciences with a focus on medicinal plants and nutraceuticals, including special botany and mycology, biologically active metabolites of natural origin, toxicity of natural substances, analytical-chemical methods of identification of natural substances and methods for their isolation, technology of production and processing of medicinal plants and their use, rational creation of nutraceuticals, and medical and clinical aspects of their use. The graduate masters the identification of plant samples from a macroscopic, microscopic, and analytical point of view and can evaluate their quality, safety, and content profile.

He can also design procedures for processing medicinal plants and other natural materials into an applicable form.
