Profiles

Graduates are able to independently apply and develop their advanced knowledge of the German language, cultural and literary history and present issues of German-speaking countries. Their wide knowledge of the German-speaking area allows them to work in cultural and political institutions, public service, the media, tourism, or as translators.

Graduates are able to analyse literature, and other spheres of culture as well, with a focus on the structure of literary texts and the historical, genre-based and theoretical contexts. Graduates are prepared to enter doctoral programmes in comparative and national literatures as well as to seek employment in the spheres of media and cultural institutions.
