Abstract
An optional-choice, cross-curricular subject, which Czech schools may choose to apply as one of their framework-education programmes, emerged in the Faculty of Education at Prague in terms of an ESF project ?A set of methods for the implementation of the Heritage education?. This cross-curricular subject, designed for pupils of Stage Two of basic schools and for lower grades of multiannual grammar schools, focuses on local culture heritage.
Such a firm anchorage in a particular place then serves as a departure point for the comprehension of wider contextual sets, and for adoption of a positive attitude towards the culture heritage of all mankind.
