Abstract
Is it possible just to look at works of art? Or is it necessary to know and to speak about the world and about the art in front of the artwork? The works of modern art needed to be explained to public, the post-modern artworks are firmly based on explanation. M.
Foucault in his Archaeology of Knowledge, J. Derrida in his deconstruction wanted to find the construct of knowledge and of visual imagination.
Cerebral processes in seeing confirm, that to see and to know are inseparable functions in the process of reception also of artworks.
