Abstract

The mere fact of wearing a Cistercian frock hardly sufficed to admit its bearer to the narrower court circles of Přemysl-dynasty court in Bohemia. The narrower kingly retinue included both bishops of Cistercian origin and three abbots of the age of King Venceslas II.
