Abstract

Aim of this book is to introduce currently very influential psychological theory explaining cultural and social features of cognitive development- so called Stucture Cognitive Modifiability. Theory of Structural Cognitive Modifiability (SCM) was developed by Israeli psychologist Reuven Feuestein and represents one of the most influential theories of cognitive development produced in the second half of twentieth century.

This book is the first printed book in Czech Republic offering detailed description of this theory and its key concepts: Mediated Learning Experience, Cognitive Map and theory of Deficient Cognitive Functions. This book also enables a reader to understand principles and content of Feuerstein´ Instrument Enrichment- intervention program, which can be understood as a way to apply principles of SCM into the psychological and pedagogical practice.

Author of this book is also presenting current outcomes of research that has been done to assess Instrumental enrichment?s effects in practice.
