Abstract
The paper focuses on cultural and intercultural interaction communicated predominantly by linguistic devices, including translation as an important precondition and factor. The transfer of cultural contents and traditions is illustrated mainly from the sphere of interlingual and international communication, proceeding predominantly from the author’s own experience with translation of literary texts (from English into Czech) and on her linguistic analysis of contemporary Czech specialized texts.
