The paper presents the first experience with blended courses \'ICT in physics education\' and \'ICT in chemistry education\', developed and offered to teachers within the frame of State Information Policy in Education project. Courses, which contain two face to face meetings and online part, covering roughly one third of the course content, but more then two thirds of course assessments and assignments, including final project, have been offered to teachers since November 2003.
The authors' experience, teachers' views and the influence of rich and autonomous virtual learning environment, based on open edited databases of Telmae portal, is discussed at the end of paper.
