Abstract
As the genetic knowledge is systematized by the model of script (from the representation of DNA bases by letters to the talk of the "Book of Life"), the discourse about the possibilities of genetic engineering resorts to already existing models, from which many originates from literature. Subject of the article are examples of creating human beings in literary texts from earlier centuries, essayistic comments of writers on the occasion of decoding the human genome as well as current literary texts and films on the subject.
