Conducting polyaniline-montmorillonite composites

Abstract

Composites based on polyaniline with montmorillonite were prepared by so called surface polymerization. The intercalation approach of polymerization were also used.

After intercalation of aniline into montmorillonite the oxidant was added, intercalative polymerization was then started. Resulting composites were characterized using FTIR spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, TGA and WAXS measurements.

Electrical conductivity pointed to the percolation behavior. The way of sample preparation influenced conductivity only marginally.
