Abstract

The article presents a review of a volume devoted to the German grammar and linguistic norms in the contemporary German. It concentrates on the sociolinguistic perspective of the relation between the language use (facticity) and its normative effects.

It places emphasis on the indexical nature of the linguistic norms that are constituted, put into question ore defended in interactions.
