Abstract

What can we learn from Claude Lefort's theory of democracy that would help us constructively rethink the sometimes ambiguous relationship between liberalism and democracy? In this contribution, I tried to enrich the debate on their relationship by insights from the conception of democratic society by Claude Lefort, based on which this can be understood as a relation of reversibility.
