INFLUENCE OF Sc3+ DOPING ON Pr3+ EMISSON IN EPITAXIAL SCINTlLLATlON GARNET LAYERS

Abstract

Epitaxial YAG and LuAG garnet layers doped by Sc3+ and Pr3+ ions were grown by isothermal dipping liquid phase epitaxy from BaO-B2O3-BaF2 flux. The layers were characterized by optical absorption, photoluminescence, radioluminescence (RL), and by scintillation response using the alpha particles.
