Author of this study takes his inspiration from the concept of the creative minorities and creole pioneers, which are connected with the English scholars A. J.
Toynbee and Benedict Anderson. He believes that the similar social role had played the Czech national elite during the 19th century.
He supposes this social group was namely able to create an alternative project of the cultural, political and later also economical changes in the Lands of the Bohemian Crown. It was done with the moderate opposition to the Austrian/German ruling classes.
This process was typical part of the social modernization in this area before the Great War.
