Venerabiles dominae. Abbesses of the monasteries of Cistercian nuns of Upper Lusatia (Sankt Marienthal and Sankt Marienstern) in time of crisis and renewal

Abstract

The study deals with the position of the abbesses of monasteries of Cistercian nuns of Upper Lusatia (Sankt Marienthal and Sankt Marienstern) in 16th and 17th century. It analysis above all the space, in which these abbesses could fulfil themselves, and their role in the reform process in monasteries.
