Domiská, knižiská, psiská and other substantival derivatives in Slovak-Czech perspective

Abstract

Though there is, both in Slovak and in Czech, augmentative formant -isko considered a part of word-formational systems, there are significant differences in its application in the two languages. In literary Czech formant -isko with its limited usage could be considered a contact phenomenon, based on intralingual (Moravian dialects) or interlingual (Slovak) contacts.
