Do we need a debate about sustainability of Egypt’s heritage in Central Europe? Although the concept of post-colonialism might seem to be inadequate to Central European countries, the current interpretation and management of Egypt’s heritage is facing same challenges all over the world. Therefore, this paper examines three main factors that underpin sustainability of value of such a heritage (conservation, education and marketing) and focuses on a question how to balance all these factors.
The case studies illustrate recent trends in Great Britain, which is recognised as one of the richest countries in terms of presence of Egypt’s heritage, and provide the stimulus for a debate in Central Europe.
