Publication at Faculty of Law |
2010

Abstract

The paper, while analysing the current perception of human rights, introduces unconventional way of considering the relationship between the interests of individuals and interests of the society. In compares the world of psychology and the world of law in such a way that it compares the hierarchy of human needs, as defined by American psychologist Abraham Maslow, with the current perception of human rights.

The paper concludes that when considering solutions of current problems of the society, it is necessary to take into account not only private interests of individuals represented by human rights, but also the public interest, i.e. the interest of the whole society.
