Abstract
The developmental task of adolescence is to build the gender identity, which includes the images of one´s own future as female or male. The adolescents construct such ideas in confrontation with the requirements of gender roles.
The article discusses similarities and differences between girls´ and boys´ideas about their adult lifes. It is based on an analysis of 98 descriptions of everyday routines in his/her adult life and life if they were of the opposite sex.
