Publication at Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Králové |
2010

Abstract

Endothelial distrurbances and abnormalities are the initial manifestations of vascular injury in patients with diabetes mellitus. Endothelial dysfunction consequently leads to the development of macrovascular and microvascular complications.

Early identification of predisposed patients, as well as a thorough underdstanding of the underlying pathogenesis of this impaired vascular function, is essential for devising appropriate preventive measures and therapeutic procedures.
