Cerebellar cognitive-affective syndrome in a view SPECT

Abstract

Impairment of the cerebellum is accompanied by motor disorders, but also the defects of emotions and cognitive functions. The condition known as cerebellar cognitive affective syndrome.

Role in these changes play a cerebro-cerebellar diaschisis. Group of 13 patients with cerebellar lesions were compared with the control group.

Patients underwent a series of neuropsychological tests. Failure of motor function after neurological examination was quantified range of ataxia (ICARS).

The brain SPECT was found to accumulate in lateral asymmetry of cerebellar hemispheres and decreased accumulation of 99mTc-HMPAO in orbitofrontal and lateral frontal cortex contralateral to the injured cerebellar hemisphere.
