Abstract

Although gastrointestinal toxicity is one of the most common side effects of anticancer therapy, the diagnosis and assessment of this toxicity still depend mostly on anamnestic data. The aim of this study is quantitative evaluation of gastrointestinal toxicity in patients with rectal carcinoma treated with chemoradiation, by intestinal permeability, vitamin A absorption, alpha-tocopherol, and neopterin.
