Pseudocryptic Diversity versus Cosmopolitanism in Diatoms: a Case Study on Navicula cryptocephala Kütz. (Bacillariophyceae) and Morphologically Similar Taxa

Abstract

Phylogenetic analyses confirmed the existence of genetically distinct lineages within N. cryptocephala. Both pseudocryptic species coexist sympatrically and are widely distributed in both European and Australan lakes.
