Abstract
The workshop defined the concept of stratigraphy as important geologic branch for next years. The primary focus was on the success of the GSSP process.
Discussion included examples of successes and their broader implications. Preparing GSSP proposals, leading ICS subcommissions, resolving differences in usage of stratigraphic nomenclature and classifications, revising ICS statutes, setting ICS standards were additional topics that received considerable attention.
