Abstract
This article aims to present the issue of tourims and recreation in water basins´ surroundings It also describes diferentiation of czech water basins according to their recreational utilization importance. Qualitative data were gained by questionnaire survey of tourists visiting four chosen water basins – Lipno, Máchovo jezero, Seč and Nové Mlýny.
Using an example of destinations at these water basins were described related impacts of tourism and recreation and also Butler´s destination cycle model was applied.
