Abstract
Twenty six hydrophilid species were recorded from the UAE during the mentioned survey; four of these species are recorded for the first time from the Arabian Peninsula (Laccobius orsenigoi Gentili, Enochrus sinuatus d'Orchymont, Cercyon lineolatus (Motschulsky), Berosus chinensis Knisch) and two species are described as new to science (Laccobius harteni nov. spec. and Cercyon deserticola nov. spec.). Brief diagnoses, notes on the biology and distribution and habitus photographs of the recorded species are provided.
Except for the material from the UAE, additional records of Thysanarthria cf. sulcata (Chiesa) and Laccobius orsenigoi from Iran and Oman are provided.
