The contribution deals with changes in the chosen indicators of postural stability dependent on intensity of specific load in elite biathlon athletes during shooting simulation and load in terrain conditions. Stability was examined by means of stabilometric platform which registers dynamic changes of the centre of pressure (COP).
Negative changes in COP trajectory and speed were recorded in each of the observed intensities. From the viewpoint of subject-matter significance, medium effect size of the examined factor (load intensity) on the change of COP trajectory was registered.
Multiple comparison proved significant difference between the level of COP after load intensity T3 and other intensities. In term of optimization and regulation of load related to standing stability vs. shooting, preceding performance at load level of 75 – 85 % HRmax appears to be an appropriate degree of intensity of the training load.
