The article deals about strength profile and strength differences of thigh muscles in soccer players. The sample was composed of soccer players of the highest junior league level (n=12, age 17.5±1.5 years, height 174±8.5 cm, weight 75.6±13.1 kg). Assessment was performed on the isokinetic dynamometer Cybex Humac Norm.
The muscle strength of knee extensors significantly decreased with increasing velocity in preferred (p<0.05) and non-preferred lower extremity (p<0.05). Post-hoc test showed a significantly different level of all mutually compared results of muscle strength exerted at different velocities of movement.
PTE in the preferred leg was higher at all velocities.Measurements of isokinetic muscle strength provide an objective approach to diagnostics and simpler quantification of muscle strength and its parameters in soccer players.
