Abstract
The last and the smallest of the three great beasts inhabitating the teritorry of Bohemia is lynx. The population of this medium sized cat is presently larger than that of brownbear or wolf and thus the problems caused by its presence occur more often.
This paper focuses on the history of its extermination as well as difficulties related with its reintroduction and presence in the nature of the Czech Republic.
