Suburbanization is one of the most important processes influencing the development of cities and their hinterlands in the Czech Republic. The process causes changes in both physical and social environments of suburban municipalities.
In this article, we focus on the process' impacts on the social and demographic structure of populations in the hinterland of large cities. Using the example of Central Bohemia Region, we demonstrate the different development trajectories of population in suburban zone of Prague (affected by strong immigration) and the other parts of region.
