The aim of this article is to introduce the changes in an age structure of the primary care physicians in the Czech Republic at the beginning of 21st century. This analyze is useable for the predicting the future development of the availability of this type of health care.
The group of the physicians of the primary care is in the Czech Republic consisted from the general practitioners, practitioners for children and young, gynecologists and obstetricians, and dentists. From the calculations based on the Registry of physicians, dentists and pharmaceuticals it is clear, that there exist quite important differences in the age structures across the main branch of activity as well as across regions.
Indispensable role plays there the process of demographic ageing of physicians which is connected with the small numbers of graduated from the last years.
