Abstract
The study is focused on the comparation of the last years of free existence of Polish and Czech traditional highest scientific institutions (Academies) before their „transformation“ after Soviet model in 1953. Both Academies were attacked for being considered conservative social centers and both were trying to reform themselves to prevent radical changes dictated from above
