Abstract

Euroregions are areas which opt to bring together towns and villages in the border areas of countries in Europe. The Euroregion Niesse-Nisa-Nysa is a group of cities and municipalities on the Czech, German and Polish side.

The main mission of the Euroregion is to delete the border and try to create economic, social and cultural conditions for the prosperity of the region. The important role plays the development of the population.

The aim of this study was to evaluate whether there are regional differences in demographic behavior of the current population of the Euroregion, or whether it is rather homogenous unit with minimal differences. The central part of the analysis of demographic trends is structure by sex and age.

The following assessment of the natural change of population, thus the analysis of mortality rates and fertility. For statistical evaluation of the resulting differences in the demographic patterns at the district level was used cluster analysis, which confirmed the basic hypothesis.
