Abstract
Standard Giemsa-stained karyotypes of 50 specimens provisionally assigned to seven genera (Pipistrellus, Hypsugo,Neoromicia, Vespertilio, Scotoecus, Myotis, Nycticeinops) originating from Senegal were described. Sequences of cytochrome b mitochondrial gene from more than 200 specimens from Senegal together with published data were used for the preliminary phylogenetic analysis.
Variations at the molecular and karyotypic levels were compared.
