Formation of earth hummocks at Mt. Keprník (the Hrubý Jeseník Mts.): evidences and hypotheses

Abstract

Although it is known, that earth hummocks are created by soil material movement caused by frost action connected with freeze-thaw cycles, it turned out, that there is no universal mechanism of their formation (Jóhannesson, 1960, Schunke, Zoltai, 1988; Gerrard, 1992). But vegetation and cracking is important during formation of earth hummocks
