Abstract

This review summarizes the information about the origins and the development of metabolic syndrome, provides new insights to its aetiopathogenesis and mutual relationships of single components that are followed to their both receptor’s and mediator’s levels. Major attention is focused on the studies of various regime controls.

Although the reduction of body weight through physical activity and the diet is the influenceable part of the therapy it requires an efficient level of education, motivation and strong will which is usually the weakest part of the whole process.
