The presented review of the high-level threat of the metabolic syndrome in children links up with the previous article on the metabolic syndrome and regime arrangement in the adult population. The global increase in obesity in children has recently alerted top research teams.
They have focused on finding causes already in the prenatal period, on establishing diagnostic criteria for both, childhood and adolescent ages, and seeking for methods of monitoring risk and preventing disease manifestations. This paper is a literature search taken from prestigious medical journals that monitor the development of risks from the ontogenetic point of view.
The paper deals not only with the issue of obesity itself, but also all risk complications like early atherosclerosis, higher blood pressure, insulin resistance, fatty liver, or sleep respiratory disorders.
