Abstract
Nitrates comprise the major drinking water contaminants in Czechia, reaching 6 % of exposure limit. A total of 24 % of the supplied population in Czechia draws over 10 % of the overall acceptable daily intake of nitrates by drinking water.
In 2004 acute health damage to the population by nitrates was not detected.
