On the field of the New Testament Christology the Letter to the Hebrews is unique, for as the only writing of the New Testament attributes to Christ the title ?High Priest?, which is however founded on different priestly structure than Old Testament priesthood. And only two others New Testament writings 1st letter of Peter and Apokalypse give to the faithful in Christ the title ?priesthood? or ?the priests?.
The present article deals then with problem, how the biblical foundations served as the starting point to use the title ?priest? for the heads of the Church communities.
