Abstract
The article introduces to the Czech reader the original work in the field of International Relations of G. Lowes Dickinson.
It offers a critical reading of his concept of international anarchy and the ways to transcend it, and contextualizes Dickinson's thought both in his social and political milieu (pointing out Dickinson's academic virtues), and against the background of the later development in the field of International Relations.
