Abstract

This study concerns the relationship of the Czechoslovak Communist Party towards the German speaking inhabitants, who (because of various reasons)stayed in the Czech Borderlands also after the forced migrations of the Germans from Czechoslovakia. The study investigates the contradictions of the Communist Party policy towards this population group and examines the deeper roots of these contradictions.
