The political representation of Lithuanian countryside and differentiation of agrarian movement after the establishment of the independent state

Abstract

The author cites the reasons for absence of a strong agrarian party similar to to other Baltic states at the beginning of the 20's. He considers the main reason in the fact that the main cleavage was defined by ideological division - the Catholic charakter of the society and special conditions of national emancipation process.
