The chapter aims at comparing Latin humanism at Olomouc academy with literary practices at Prague University, both on the level of literary background (including various forms of patronage) and actual writing practices. Contrary to the literary scene of Prague University, the poetry production in Olomouc was characterized by the emphasis of formal complexity, the maximum metric richness of poems and the number of allusions and quotations; poems were dedicated primarily to local bishops and other Church dignitaries, noblemen and high Imperial officers.
The collections of casual poetry were often dedicated to relatives rather than scholars from town circles, as in the case of Prague university field.
