The paper deals with the organization of the care of written sources related to the history of industry and trade after the Second World War and with the beginnings of the centrally directed companies´archives. Resettlement and closing of many enterprises after 1945 led to a wave of destruction of archival documents, which indicated increasing requirements on their protection and preservation for future generations.
The Czech Provincial Archive organized rescue of endangered documents and their preservation at the existing archives. Dr.
Jan Klepl was also employed there and was the Secretary of the Archive for the History of Industry, Trade and Technical Work at the time. At the same time, there were courses organized for the newly acquired companies´archivists, explaining them the importance of their work and teaching them the new methodology.
The central supervision and formation of the administration of the companies´archives were completed at the beginning of the 1950s.
